Gales Force Start Postponement

BMW Round Ireland Race

Wicklow Sailing Club organisers in consultation with Royal Ocean Racing Club safety officers have decided to postpone the start of the BMW Round Ireland Race by four hours, following a review of weather conditions and forecast data.

The BMW Round Ireland Race will now start at 6.00pm from Wicklow today (Saturday 26th June 2004).

Conditions off Wicklow Harbour were reported to be choppy but forecasts of up to Strong Gale Force 9 gusts prompted the postponement on safety grounds.
