Conrad Gulcher Memorial Regatta
Loosdrecht

Olympic Champions from as far back as 1960 gathered in th Netherlands last weekend to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the Flying Dutchman.
Three days of celebration and sailing took place on Loosdrecht Lakes over Friday Saturday and Sunday and saw the likes of Rodney Pattison (GBR), Jorg and Jacob BoysenMoller (DEN), and Miguel Noguer (ESP); all past Olympic medallists compete amongst today's top FD sailors for the Conrad Gulcher memorial regatta, the classes traditional end of season event.

As well as the sailing, there were three days of celebration for the competitors and supporters of the class which included a champions race on the Saturday afternoon. Over the three races held Pattison proved he still has the touch in the FD, leaving only BoysenMoller to finish in front of him and providing fantastic entertainment for the hundreds of spectators.

Team BoysenMoller also proved themselves in the main regatta of the weekend. Consolidating his three firsts in the qualification phase, he scored a sixth and a third in the last two races to take home the overall prize. Out of the 71 competitors from 15 nations, the Hungarians Szabolcs Majtheny and Andras Domokos finished second and the Dutch team Klaas Tilstra and Adriaan Schmal finished third.
