By the time the classes had assembelled at the committee boat, the wind had evaporated almost completely. A further wait ensued as the breeze came back from a slightly different direction. Racing finally got underway at 1530hrs. By 1850hrs all classes had two races in the bag and the security of a validated championship.

Wu ZhiMing (CHN75) continues to dominate the Mistral men's heavyweight division with his consistencey and also heads the overall leader board despite being one of the heavier racers out there. Kenzo Motokazu (JPN1) had a good day moving up from 7th overall to 4th overall as well as taking the second spot in the heavyweights one point in front of Wang Aishen (CHN47).

Zhang Ye (CHN171) lying second overall and a nearly 4kgs lighter than Wu heads the Mistral lighweight fleet with a convincing lead over his countryman Zhou Yuanguo, 2nd. Zhang Jian moved up to third lightweight from 4th yesterday after a nightmare day for Ho Chi Ho (HKG6) who has dropped almost out of sight of the podium with a 13th and a 16th overall to take 8th.

In the women's divison, Lee Lai Shan (HKG1) is now establshing her dominance over Yin Jian (CHN7) who is 2nd with a six point lead over third placed Wang ShenMei (CHN177). However Eri Mitsumori (JPN72) is well placed in 4th to take advantage of any mistakes she might make if only she can maintain todays form (1st and 2nd).

The one and only discard comes into effect tomorrow after 4 races have been completed.
