Mistral European Championship
Lake Neusiedl

Samuel Launay (FRA) is leading the Mistral European Championship Open Men's Fleet, whilst Shiri Ron (ISR) is leading the Open Women's Fleet.

Young New Zealander James Wells (NZL) is in second position following in the successful traditon of other Mistral Olympic windsurfers from New Zealand, such as Bruce Kendall, sister Barbara Kendall, Aaron McIntosh and Jon Paul Tobin.

Jannicke Staalstrom (NOR) is lying in second position. Jannicke completed an Olympic campaign in the 470 class for the Sydney 2000 Olympics, having sailed in the Mistral class previously. So she has returned to her roots for an Olympic campaign for the Athens 2004 Olympics. Also making a come back for a 2004 Olympic campaign is Michal Hein (ISR) currently lying in fourth position.
