Cadets
The younger members are very important to the future of RNIYC. There is a very strong cadet membership section and it continues to grow year on year. The newly introduced Pirates Club allows the cadets to get involved with the on water activities in a controlled and supervised manner. This new initiative encourages fun sailing and helps the cadets practice new techniques learnt on the sailing course.
On a Tuesday and Thursday night, from Easter to the early September the Club hosts cadet sailing a combination of cadet racing and supervised sailing within the Pirates’club.
RNIYC run a series of RYA sailing course during the summer months, these are very popular with the cadets and their friends and get booked up very quickly each year, check out the Courses web page.
RNIYC cadets regularly represent the club at Regional, National and even International racing events around the country.
RNIYC have a range of training boats including RS Visions, Laser Picos , RS Teras and Toppers. RNIYC are continuously updating the sailing kit to ensure that the cadets learn with the most modern boats.
For more information on the cadet sailing at RNIYC contact Andrew Vaughan Hon.Cadet Instructor.
