Weymouth and Portland, Great Britain

Ukraine's Olga Maslivets became the first Women's RS:X sailor to win a race ahead of the big three, Marina Alabau (ESP), Lee Korzits (ISR) and Zofia Klepacka (POL).
She came through for the Race 7 win but it was back to usual in Race 8 as Korzits picked up her second bullet. The result pulls Maslivets into third place, with five points separating her and Tuuli Petaja (FIN) in fourth place. Klepacka meanwhile is fifth on 33 points.

Maslivets notched up the bullet in Race 7 having taken the lead over Moana Della (GER) after the first mark. The Ukrainian put seven seconds in between her and Delle at the second mark before pressure frontrunners Korzits and Alabau put pressure on her to chip away at the lead. But the four time Olympian stood strong to take the bullet.

On the race win The Ukrainian said, "It was a wonderful race, I had a really good start. I had incredibly good speed and good angles so I could just control the fleet on the starboard. I was not so good on the port and there was a couple of times when I went to the right which paid off a lot but I stayed in the downwind gusts."

With the fleet coming towards the end of fleet racing tomorrow tactical racing may come into play. The Ukrainian will want to end the day in the same position ahead of Tuesday's Medal Race, she added, "I have to be there for sure, there will be some tactics. Not a one way race, we'll see how it goes."

In Race 8 Korzits led from start to finish whilst Alabau discarded her seventh. The result pulls the Israeli within three points of the Spaniard

The Women's RS:X racers finish fleet racing on 5 August at 12:00 local time on the Portland Harbour Course.
