Overview

Our new base in Rodney Bay, St Lucia is situated along the northwest coast of this magnificent island, providing you with a new gateway from which to explore the Windward isles.

Unspoilt, romantic, welcoming; St. Lucia offers the perfect escape. Explore the picturesque Marigot Bay, dine at beach-side restaurants, snorkel the reef, or admire the view from the top of Gros Piton. Feeling a little more adventurous?

On St Lucia you can enjoy a tram ride through the rainforest, visit the dormant volcano La Soufriere (a must see of any visit to St Lucia), experience a zip-line ride against the backdrop of the Pitons, have a soak in the mud beneath the sulphur springs or take a ‘Rhythm of Rum’ tour.

Our sailing area includes the islands of St. Vincent, Bequia, Mustique, Mayreau, and Tobago Cays – some of the finest sailing grounds in the Caribbean. From the lush, volcanic heights of St Vincent, to the underwater playground of the world-famous Tobago Cays, the opportunities for adventure and discovery are unrivaled. Although St. Lucia has a population of about 160,000, its expansive banana plantations, picturesque hamlets, and beautiful harbors are more reminiscent of the Caribbean when it was less developed.

Due to Hurricane season, the base will be closed between 1st August - 30th September.

Sailing in St. Lucia

St Lucia is the ideal sailing holiday destination, with outstanding sailing conditions and consistent trade winds, combined with spectacular scenery and plenty of beautiful shetlered ports and bays. Not only is St Lucia the perfect destination, but the surrounding islands of Mustique, St Vincent, Bequia and the Tobago Cays are all within easy reach.

Whilst St Lucia is a Level 3 sailing destination, it is mainly line of sight sailing, but also offers the choice of longer passages for the more adventurous sailor.The winter months are the time to visit for exciting and challenging sailing – in summer, the sailing is smoother and more relaxed. Winds in the winter are generally north-easterly, south-easterly in the summer months. Temperatures range from 23 to 35 C (75 - 95 F).

St Lucia Highlights

Cruising in the Pitons is certainly magic to the eyes of cruisers heading south to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, marking an entry into the charm of the Eastern Caribbean. The twin conical peaks of Petit Piton (elevation 2,460 feet) and Gros Piton (elevation 2,619 feet) are among the most noteworthy landmarks on St. Lucia. Just north of Petit Piton is the small town of Soufriére (it shares the name of the nearby dormant volcano, the only one in the world it’s possible to drive a car right inside!).

  • Marigot Bay St Lucia

    Cruising to Marigot Bay brings you to the scenic west coast of St. Lucia and the picturesque and charming town of Marigot Bay. This is a spot that has plenty of bars and restaurants that are well used to extending a warm welcome to visiting sailors. The eco-friendly Marigot Bay marina has excellent facilities, including chic shops and a spa.

  • Mayreau

    Beautiful Mayreau is postcard-perfect Caribbean. With clear turquoise waters and sparkling white sand beaches, some lovely walks, a few (but not too many) bars and restaurants, and the promise of good food, live music and some mean cocktails at Righteous Bob’s.   • Mustique

    A Mustique yacht charter allows you to visit this exclusive and beautiful island, long a favourite with rock stars and royalty. You can hike or mountain-bike through the lush, green interior, ride a horse along Macaroni Beach or simply ensconce yourself in the famous Basil’s Bar for an hour or two of celebrity spotting.
