The leaders in the classes that have been racing throughout the week remain the same as the City of Santander was treated to all of the Olympic events taking to the water.

The wind was late to come through making the fleet wait in the port until it decided to appear at 5 knots, building to a comfortable 12 knots and a direction shifting from 330 to around 340.

The spectacular scenery of today, attracted many followers interested in watching the races, together with the vast public passing by the Oceanographic museum and the walk way round Puerto Chico.

Finn

The Finn class had a fleet all to themselves and New Zealand's Josh Junior leads on six points followed by Spain's Alejandro Muscat with 14 points and Russia's Egor Terpigorev third.

Laser and Laser Radial

The Laser had their first experience in the of Ciudad de Santander Trophy today. With a fleet of 63 boats, 43 in standard and 23 in Radial they're the most populated classes in the event. In the Standard Great Britain's Martin Evans and Estonia's Kaarel Kruusmagi lead on a single point with Australia's Ashley Brunning sitting second on two points.

Great Britain's Alison Young and Turkey's Cagla Donertas are tied for the lead having taken a race win apiece. The discard has come into play after the second race so there will be some shifting about on the second day of Laser racing.

Men's and Women's 470

Luke Patience and Joe Glanfield's (GBR) form in the Men's 470 remains good and they continue to lead. Japan's Kazuto Doi and Kimihiko Imamura climb up one spot to second on 26 points with Pierre Leboucher and Nicolas Leberre third on 42 points.

Austria's Lara Vadlau and Jolanta Ogar are dominating the Women's 470 fleet and hold a comfortable ten point lead over Hannah Mills and Saskia Clark (GBR). One point behind their compatriots in third is Sophie Weguelin and Eilidh McIntyre (GBR).
Nacra 17 and RS: X

Both classes have raced together, demonstrating spectacular speed together. For the Nacra 17 class, the leaders are the British team of Ben Saxton and Hannah Diamond with 10 points. In second place the Austrian team Thomas Zajac and Tanja Chiara have 10 points and in third place Rupert White and Nicola Boniface (GBR) sit on 16 points.

As for the boards, the dominant force is Dorian Van Rijsselberghe and he leads on nine points. In second place is Frenchman Julien Bontemps on 10 points and sitting in third place is Nick Dempsey with 22 points.

In the Women's RS:X, Charline Picon (FRA) is first with eight points, followed by Maayan Davidovich from Israel with 13 points and in third is Bryony Shaw (GBR) with 17 points.

49er

The 49er fleet tested the race course that will be used for the Medal Races in 2014 in front of the construction of the infrastructure that will host the spectators next year.

Holding the lead on nine points is Diego Botin and Pablo Turrado (ESP) followed by Austria's Benjamin Bildstein and David Hussll and America's Fred Strammer and Zach Brown.
