The world famous, gaff-rigged pilot cutter was the last boat to carry the royal mail under sail and has won the Fastnet Race three times, including the inaugural race in 1925.

Jolie Brise is owned, maintained and sailed by the pupils of Dauntsey's School. The School hosted a number of celebratory events throughout the spring and summer of 2013, including centenary cruises, dinners and receptions. Highlights of the season saw Jolie Brise taking part in the Channel Classics Regatta in July and the Fastnet Race in August. The Sailing Programme for 2014 will be published shortly.

Dauntsey's is a leading independent co-educational day and boarding school in the heart of Wiltshire. Unusually for a land-locked school, Dauntsey's has a long association and passion for sailing. The School Sailing Club was founded in 1970 and its association with the Jolie Brise began in 1977. Over the last 35 years thousands of boys and girls from Dauntsey's have enjoyed sailing on Jolie Brise participating in many Tall Ships races throughout Europe and beyond. Together with Jolie Brise they have been the overall winners of Tall Ships races three times, including the transatlantic races to the USA and Canada in 2000 and most recently in 2011.
