Team15 open training sessions

Open training events are great fun and are set up to specifically encourage all Team15 sailors to attend. The sessions are run by the same guys who run the RYA Zone Squad Coaching Programme, so you could develop your windsurfing skills to be as good as those windsurfers currently in the zone squads. You may even be able to beat them at the next T15 inter-club event...

The open training sessions are designed to help improve your all-round windsurfing skills (not just racing skills) with the intention of making you a better sailor - and the added bonus is that you may just improve your ranking at the T15 inter-club events, for those that attend.

The training will cover all aspects of windsurfing from freestyle through to racing, also covering wave sailing - if we get the right conditions!

Where?

One open training day will be organised for each T15 zone and will be attached to an inter-club event, it may have camping opportunities on-site or nearby - so why not make a weekend of it? You can go to as many open training sessions as you want, not just those in your zone, but the places are limited. The more you attend, the more you'll improve...

Camping

There may be camping available at specific venues either on-site or close by; a great opportunity for mums and dads to socilaise with parents from other teams, as well as your own team, so make a weekend of it and bring the BBQ, bring the wine and don't forget the tent/caravan!

Great training opportunities with the UKWA

The UKWA (UK Windsurfing Association) are offering some great opportunities for Team15 sailors to participate more easily in their Regional Series Events and their Inland Series - and have some great fun in the process!

The UKWA (UK Windsurfing Association) are offering some great opportunities for Team15 sailors to participate more easily in their Regional Series Events and their Inland Series - and have some great fun in the process!

As well as participating in the racing, the TCA (Techno Class Association) are offering Team15 sailors the additional support of coaching at some of these events. Run by zone coaches, these fun coached events will help Team15 sailors to make the transition from T15 inter-club events to the next stage up, improving your skills into the bargain.

Not only can you compete in UKWA events whilst you are part of Team15, you can also stay competing in them when you are too old for Team15, so we would encourage you to take advantage of this affordable and fun opportunity.

What's more, mum and dad or older siblings can compete too, if they want to...so somthing for the whole family. And if they don't windsurf, because some of the events are two-day events with onsite camping, they are also very sociable, with opportunity to make friends with families from across the UK.

Classes

The coached event is available to T15 sailors currently participating in T15 inter-club events in the following classes: 3.5m, 4.5m and 5.8m.

If you sail in the Techno 6.8m class then you can still take part in the racing, as can any parents or older siblings, since this is a UKWA event and the UKWA are looking to attract people of all ages to a fun and social racing experience through their Regional and Inland Series.

This is a great opportunity for T15 sailors to experience a 'national' event with someone on hand giving tips and advice along the way. An excellent experience, which really shouldn't be missed, especially if you are serious about improving your competitive windsurfing. It will be great preparation for the T15 Champions Cup and the RYA Volvo Zone Championships later in the year.

Attend as a team?

Why not make it a club outing and attend as a group? That way you will have the support of others that you know, as well as the opportunity to make new friends and learn some tips along the way.

Cost?

The coached events are great value for money prices and for 2013 will be confirmed as soon as possible.

Where?

Posters will be available on the right of this page for download once dates and venues have been confirmed.

Booking

You will need to book online and in advance; to book on the coached events visit the Techno UK website by following the links on the right  ('Elsewhere on the web').
