The RYA Start Yachting course gives you an introduction to sail cruising for those who have never sailed before and where better to do this in the warm sunshine and blue seas around Puerto Calero Marina on the beautiful Island of Lanzarote.

The RYA Competent Crew course is a popular course and  shows someone new to sailing the techniques involved and the thrills of sailing.  Being blessed with a beautiful climate we can run this course fifty two weeks of the year, which makes Lanzarote an ideal location to learn to sail. When you´re not at sea there are also loads of great things to do and see.  For example no visit to Lanzarote is complete without a visit to the Timanfaya National Park.

The RYA Day Skipper Tidal Practical Course is for those who wish to skipper a yacht during day light hours. This is a scary thought for many and is a huge step from being a competent crew member. Lanzarote is ideal with calm, clear tidal waters, year round sunshine and an almost constant wind and beautiful clean cosmoplitan marinas.  There is no where better.

The Coastal Skipper course builds on the skills you will have learnt during your RYA Day Skipper course.  Lanzarote offers tidal waters with year round sunshine, making it a pleasure to sail. The RYA Coastal Skipper Course covers advanced skippering techniques in terms of boat handling and passage planning. moving you from the shorter day passages at Day Skipper level to longer coastal passages.

The RYA/MCA Yactmaster Coastal Skipper Certificate of Competence examination is the ideal addition to the RYA Coastal Skipper course once completed along with some coastal sailing since in order to put the lessons learnt into practice. The holder of an RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Coastal Skipper Certificate of Competence has the knowledge needed to skipper a yacht on coastal passages, but does not necessarily have the experience needed to undertake longer offshore passages.

To attain the RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore candidates must pass a practical examination of their skippering ability. A Yachtmaster is capable of skippering the yacht on extended offshore passages by day or night. He or she will essentially be a much more experienced Coastal Skipper and can do the same things more smoothly, for longer periods and in more arduous conditions.

Our mile builders will suit any sailing enthusiast looking to increase their mileage under the watchful eye of an RYA Instructor. Build your sea miles with passages to different islands in the Canaries.  You will be involved in skippering different passages, the planning and navigation. Night sailing is included, and following the discipline of a watch system, the passages are designed to allow you to build up those important miles.

Come and join us for some winter sun in Puerto Calero, Lanzarote and gain an introduction to sail cruising and Scuba Diving. Experience steering a yacht, sail handling, ropework, anchoring and become aware of safety on board. The scuba diving course is divided between the classroom and the water, with confined and open water dives in the warm waters (17 - 21ºC in the winter and 21 - 24ºC in the summer). 

Unique to Endeavour Sailing we have put together a purely practical course that is designed to increase your practical knowledge and experience.  It is an ideal stepping stone between competent crew and day skipper. The First Mate week will move you from a competent crew member to understanding what is required to make you a confident skipper of a small yacht in familar waters. 

This week is aimed at those who have done RYA Day Skipper course or above, but wish to refresh their sailing skills and increase their confidence. Although there is no RYA certificate, we will sign your log book to show what you have done during this week.

This course is for those people who wish to go onto teach RYA Competent Crew Sailing and Day Skipper Sailing Courses. Endeavour Sailing prides itself on its Cruising Instructor Course, and the quality of the tuition and feedback. Along side the RYA's own check list we have developed our own feedback form, which allows you to identify your strengths and weaknesses. 

Our Colleague Norman Sparrow operates Lanzarote Powerboat Training which is an RYA accredited Powerboat Training Centre, based also in Puerto Calero Marina.  He is able to offer RYA Powerboat courses from Powerboat Level 1 up to  Powerboat Level 2.
