Twitter Certified Products Requirements

The terms below are requirements for all products in the Twitter Certified Products Program. Current and potential partners must fully adhere to these requirements for certification. We encourage you to audit your product against all of these terms before applying to the Twitter Certified Products Program. During the application process, we review each product on a case by case basis and may indicate areas of improvement beyond the requirements below before we certify a product into the program. However these requirements serve as a good baseline for your product's development.

Be a Good Partner

Twitter looks for partners with products that make Twitter more valuable to businesses, encourage their use of Twitter, and bring Twitter to new users. Good partners make the partnership easy for both parties and have a strong interest in the success of the Twitter platform.

Guidelines

  • Make Twitter more valuable to businesses and solve a need that Twitter does not address
  • Help bring Twitter to new or underserved markets
  • Remain in a strong and growing financial status
  • Serve the types of businesses and customers that are important to Twitter
  • Twitter is a core part of your product and you make use of all applicable APIs and features
  • Integrations behave as consistently as possible with Twitter's own products
  • Encourage meaningful engagement with the Twitter network
  • You are working on an opportunity with significant impact
  • Use Twitter Platform products rather than creating similar products

Attribution Guidelines

Tweets offer a unique source of real-time content. Twitter also provides an unprecedented source of public data for analytics products. We look for partners who extend the impact of Twitter through unique integrations and analytics that encourage further engagement with Twitter.

  • Use the nomenclature of Twitter to describe Twitter-based analytics, e.g. "140 Tweets" not "140 Social Media mentions" (see the Twitter Glossary)
  • Provide attribution to Twitter when creating experiences based on or derived from Tweets
  • Allow users to easily understand Twitter's contribution to the analytics you provide and do not obfuscate analytics built with Twitter data. If you include analytics from other networks or platforms, you must provide a Twitter-specific view.
  • Your analytics are consistent with Twitter's existing metrics, e.g. you report the same number of Retweets for a given Tweet
  • Provide attribution to Twitter adjacent to any Twitter-based analytics

Follow the Rules

Twitter has standard rules that all developers must follow. These are designed to keep us working towards the same goals and keep our mutual users and network safe. We hold our partners to the highest bar with respect to these policies.

Badges and Program attribution

Twitter certifies products and services that meet the requirements of the Twitter Certified Products Program. Partners in the program display the badges they earn to allow their customers to recognize this level of distinction.

  • Only display badges for products and services that you have earned a certification from Twitter
  • You may not display badges for uncertified products or services
  • Mention the program in your marketing materials only in connection with certified products and services
  • Always use the full name of this program (“Twitter Certified Products Program”) when referencing it in press and marketing materials
  • Certified products branded as another company’s solution (i.e. white-labled, or distributed as a partner’s equivalent) may not include a badge
  • You should link your badge to your certified product page or the program home page whenever possible
