Miami, USA

The North American Championships in Miami, USA are providing an insight into who the runners and riders for ISAF Sailing World Cup Miami will be.
In the 49erFX Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze (BRA) have taken six of seven race wins to lead the 29-boat fleet.

The first three races of the second day, races 4 through 6 for the 49erFX, went like clockwork for the Brazilians. They lead at every mark, even though each race played out differently from the others. They started well, sailed quickly on the lifted tack, and had solid maneuvers. Then in race 7, they were placed under a lot of pressure by having a poor start. They managed to salvage a reasonable first mark rounding but many of the other favorites were ahead of them through to the final downwind.

Also sailing well on the day were Sarah Steyeart & Julie Bossard (FRA) and Noora Ruskola & Camilla Cedarcruz (FIN). These teams along with the Brazilians managed 4 tops 10′s on the day, a great feat in a fleet of 30 boats.

Jonas Warrer & Peter Lang of Denmark had a very solid day today and now take the lead with an 11 point advantage over GBR's Jon Pink and Stuart Bithel. Close behind is Julien D'Ortoli, who was really concentrating on winning the favored ends of the line today.

In the Men's 470 Pierre Leboucher and Nicolas Le Berre (FRA) narrowly lead Yannick Brauchli and Romuald Hausser (SUI) by two points with Sime Fantela and Igor Marenic (CRO) a further two points behind in third.

America's Anne Haeger and Briana Provancha are tied on 14 points with Camille Lecointre and Helene Defrance (FRA) in the Women's 470 after five races.

Miami locals Sarah Newberry and John Casey (USA) hold a six point lead in the Nacra 17 and Marco Baglione (ITA) leads the Men's RS:X whilst Isobel Hamilton (GBR) is on top in the Women's RS:X.
