Emirates Team New Zealand recorded an enormous win of 1 minute 34 seconds over BMW to end Round Robin Two undefeated. The Kiwis benefited from a big shift on the first beat which favoured the right side of the course. The Americans delayed tacking back from the left and this left Dean BARKER (NZL) and his crew with a massive 54 second advantage at the first mark. From there they extended on every leg to record a huge win over the previously dominant Americans.
The Kiwis now have the choice of Semi Final opponents and can pick from BMW ORACLE Racing, Luna Rossa or Desafío Español 2007.
In today's other races Team Shosholoza held off a late charge by Areva Challenge to win their match and the battle for seventh overall, a terrific result for the first African team to compete in the America's Cup. Luna Rossa recorded a comfortable win over a rather ragged looking Desafío Español team, Mascalzone Latino - Capitalia overcame Victory Challenge whilst +39 Challenge got the better of United Internet Team Germany.
