Dorota Staszewska

Formula Windsurfing Euro Cup
Lake Silvaplana

They have been getting lots of racing in at the Euro Cup at Lake Silvaplana, Switzerland. Six races on the first day and five on the second. Current World Champions Wojtek Brzozowski (POL) leads the men, and Dorota Staszewska (POL) the women.
There are more than 100 men racing at this event, in this increasingly popular windsurfing discipline. Wojtek is winning from fellow Polish man Aleksander Grynis, with French man, who also excels at freestyle windsurfing, Antoine Albeau in third position.

It is really close at the top of the women's fleet though with Lucy Horwood (GBR) is actually tied on points with Dorota at the moment, and Lucy was leading after one day's racing. Dorota has been absolutely dominating the Formula Class since it began last year, but it looks like now she is beginning to be challenged more.

With two more days racing it is possible they could finish with a very high number of races. Next stop for the Formula Windsurfing Euro Cup series is Kuhlungsborn, Germany from 23-26 August and the final Euro Cup of the year will be in Medemblik, Holland from the 12-16 September.
