Winds on Tuesday were from the east, shifty with visible gusts. McCullough/Punter had a great day. They have been the most consistent through 14 races never finishing worse than eighth and are leading going into the last day.
Waldie/BougieBastien and the Bougie-Bastien Sisters basically traded off scores and are now separated by only three points. Team BER dropped to fifth with a disappointing day but it should be noted that they were in the same situation last year and they pulled off the victory. They have a chance to repeat that feat tomorrow..........
Day Three
Day three started with 15kts with gusts to 17kts. Team BER couldn't be happier and looked to extend their lead in the breeze. Teams were a little hesitant leaving the harbour but were only to be greeted by a much lighter wind of 10-12kts. The days wind was pretty consistent until mid afternoon and a system came through just as the race leaders were finishing the first downwind. The wind then did a 180 degrees shift and they were off downwind again.
There were no real changes in the top ten by the end of the day. Team BER had a 1,1,3,15 to maintain the lead (they were well within striking distance in the final race but were just not well placed when the big shift happened) McCullough/Punter had another consistent day to maintain second. Waldie/BougieBastien were also consistent holding onto third. The Bougie-Bastien Sisters are fourth and top women. With two days left team will have to score ahead of BER or they will repeat their victory here 2003.
Day Two
Great breeze and efficient Race Committee allowed the fleet to complete five races today. Team BER had the best day and were on Fire scoring 2,2,1,6,1 and take a seven point lead on Ontario's McCullough/Punter. Team Waldie/Bougie-Bastien finished off their day with some strong finishes to remain in the hunt for the NA Crown. The Bougie-Bastien Sisters, fresh off a two week Session in the UK, are standing fourth overall and top women. Trailing by one point is Manitoba's Smutny/McCorquondale holding onto fifth Overall.
