Soling World Chamionship 2005
Castiglione della Pescaia, Italy

Yesterday saw races three and four of the Soling World Championship in Castiglione della Pescaia, Italy. The German team helmed by Roman KOCH produced a mirror image of their opening day results, to move comfortably clear at the top of the leaderboard.
A second in race three followed by a bullet sees KOCH's team twelve points clear of the Slovenian team helmed by Bostjan ANTONCIC. A bullet in race three for them was a promising start to the day but they followed it with a disappointing eleventh place in race four. Third overall are the Argentinean team of Gustavo WARBURG, in an international looking top five composed entirely of teams from different nations.

Italy's windsurfing Olympic gold medallist, Alessandra SENSINI, commented from the press boat yesterday that it was turning out to be, 'A dream of a world championship. Castiglione's race course confirms itself to be one of the most technical and every day competitors measure themselves against very diverse weather conditions. This allows athletes to express their capabilities fully; these are the conditions I dreamt of in Athens.'

Certainly for KOCH things could not be going better and the German and his team would have been looking to continue their form when racing started at 1200 hours local time today.
