ORMA 60 2001 Championship

Franck Cammas (Groupama) has won the 9 Telecom ORMA 60 2001 Championship overall for this season. The championship comprised six races, culminating in the Transat Jacques Vabre.
Franck Cammas (Groupama) won in front of second placed Alain Gautier (Foncia) and third Jean-Luc Nélias (Belgacom). The prize giving took place yesterday at the Eurosport Café in Paris.

Franck Cammas, at 28 years old, is the ORMA 9 Telecom champion for the second consecutive year. A title which he won thanks to his victory in the latest Transat Jacques Vabre. The title was won by Franck on a tie break as he was level on points with Alain Gautier. Franck said he will continue with multihulls for the moment his next objective is the Route du Rhum in 2002. The winter modifications to Groupama will mainly be to the foils.
