2nd Malta Euromed Optimist Championship

Heavier winds and high waves favoured the older and heavier sailors on Day Two of the championship. Racing commenced in Force 3-4 from the NE (Grigal) increasing to Force 4-5 by mid morning and shifting to NW (Majjistral).
Ton Thorn (SWE) moved up from 6 position overnight to take the lead but the main effect of the weather was to move Maltese sailors up the leader board at the expense of the very young British team.

The Indian team, in fact all from Goa, are coping very well in the unfamiliar conditions with their best sailor Ashok Rohith in 15th place in the 40 boat fleet.

Overall results, after day two:

1. Ton Thorn (SWE)
2. Rebecka Harding (SWE)
3. Karl Malmqvist (SWE)
4. Matthew Fleri Soler (MLT)
5. Zak Borg (MLT)
6. Sebastian Ripard (MLT)
7. Claire Walsh (GBR)
8. Ben Saxton (GBR)
9. Daniel Calasione (MLT)
