Greeks Looking To Defend Championship Title

Lightning Youth Worlds
Rochester

Racing started yesterday at the 12th Lightning Youth Worlds in Rochester, USA.
Last held in 2000 at the Yacht Club of Greece, the Lightning Youth Worlds has tended to be a biennial event.

Whilst the Greek defending champion is not here in Rochester, Satiris Stoumbos who placed second in 2000 is here and no doubt hoping to retain his country's medal, and with 6 races scheduled over the three days of racing, there is no room for error.

This Championship returns to the States for the third time since the Youth Worlds was first introduced in 1978, and over the past 12 Youth Worlds, the USA has claimed the title 6 times, and will not doubt be hoping to repeat their performance this year.
