Ladies Only Match Race 2005
Hamburg, Germany

Eleven teams showed exciting manoeuvres and high-class performances on the first day of racing at the "Ladies Only" Grade 2 Match Race in Hamburg, Germany. The hosting Hamburger Segel-Club needed to show good organisation work to make sure that the competitors from Germany, Denmark, Great Britain, Croatia, Austria, Poland and Sweden sailed as many races as possible to full fill a whole round robin within two days.

Two matches were sailed in each flight on boats called Streamline with double trapeze.

Three teams are on top of the leader-board after first day of racing:

Josie GIBSON (GBR) and Silke HAHLBROCK (GER) are unbeaten, leading the fleet into the second day. The well-experienced match racing-skipper Malin KÄLLSTRÖM from (SWE) just lost against HAHLBROCK.

It remains to be seen if the other teams can catch up while racing goes on until Sunday.
