What the match Race Girls, Lucy & Kate Macgregor and Annie Lush had to say at the media conference at the Olympic venue today in Weymouth
Comments from GBR sailing team leader Stephen PARK, men's Laser sailor Paul Goodison (GBR), women's match racers Lucy and Kate Macgregor and Annie Lush at a Team GB media conference at the Olympic sailing venue in Weymouth on Wednesday.
This is what the Match Race Girls had to say...
Annie Lush
On how she feels going into the London 2012 sailing event:
"I have to be honest, I am very nervous and equally excited."
On the competitors:
"It's about which crew turns up on the day, whoever is the most fired up."
On umpire decisions:
"Obviously you can't rely on umpires and you have to try and make sure everything is within your own control and not leave it up to them."
On the Nothe course, which is closest to shore:
"The Nothe is inherently shifty in certain wind directions. You are not going to get everything right and it will be about whoever keeps their cool and makes the least mistakes."
Lucy Macgregor
On fan support:
"This has been a long campaign, and over four years you get some dark days. The home support from so many people has really made a difference."
On the British sailing team:
"One of the strengths of having the team around you is that you get a sense of normality, which is really key to keeping our heads level all the way through and making sure we have our heads in the right place come the final days."
Kate Macgregor
On the British sailing team:
"We just try and absorb as much of the experience as we can. We don't really know what to expect."
