Road Safety Division is responsible for promoting road safety, training and educating road users, producing the Highway Code and developing policy and legislation.

Driver and Vehicle Agency Opens in a new window. is the new Agency formed from the merger of Driver and Vehicle Licensing Opens in a new window. , which keeps a record of all those who are entitled to drive, together with a register of all vehicles and operators entitled to travel on public roads and the Driver and Vehicle Testing Agency Opens in a new window. whose key aim is to promote and improve road safety.

The Agency operates from a number of geographical locations, including 15 combined vehicle test and practical driving test centres, 2 stand alone centres for driving tests, 6 theory test centres, 2 enforcement centres, 13 dynamic weighbridge facilities, 5 of which can be operated by customers themselves, 8 vehicle / driver licensing offices and a commercial licensing office.
