Feeling squeezed in coach class? It's not just you. A handful of airlines are cutting shoulder space by wedging an extra seat into each coach row. http://on.wsj.com/Hi1e4T

Have you noticed a change when you fly?

Yet when you see a commercial on TV they make it look so roomy. I just happen to see one for Delta. Go figure.

After decades of rampant growth, the rate of college tuition increases at U.S. colleges and universities has slowed. But government aid has fallen, continuing a cycle of rising debt for American students. http://on.wsj.com/HbvVsc

How have you managed to deal with student debt - yours, or your child's?

+Catherine Wroclawski if the school has a mere 5000 students, that 2.3M breaks out to less than 500/student. With a paltry 1000 students it still would only break out to 2300 each, or about 4% of the tuition.

While I can't comment on whether the President is actually earning the full 2.3M, I can say that the 60k tuition isn't likely even close to being dominated by the salary of the president of the school.

In order to do a real analysis you'd have to look at total operating costs, and then break them out by category and function. At least that should be the minimum starting point. Singling out one probably minute portion of the total cost of operate the school is fallacious and non-constructive.

Learned how to read and write Japanese on my train commute to/from work in Tokyo. On the other hand, became very unhealthy, very quickly on a 2-hour one way driving commute to/from work for MSFT. There is no job in this world that would get me to do that again.
