Dayskipper Weekend Course - Part 2
On this practical course you will gain further experience through planning and completing passages, including a night sail. You will also gain your ICC (International Certificate of Competence). The course also involves lots of close quarter handling skills and mooring in a range of marinas.The Part 2 RYA Day Skipper Course Includes:
- Taking and plotting visual fixes
- Use of GPS
- Use of waypoints
- Working up DR and EP
- Estimating tidal heights and streams
- Course to Steer
- Anchoring, mooring alongside and picking up a mooring under sail
- Buoyage
- Pilotage
- Passage making
- Night cruising
Course Objective: You will be licensed to skipper your own boat and charter a boat both in the UK or abroad.
Prerequisite: Some theoretical knowledge is an advantage

The Part 1 RYA Day Skipper Course Includes: * Preparation for sea * Deck work * Reef and shake out reefs * Anchoring * Mooring alongside and picking up a mooring under power * Meteorology * Rules of the road * Engine Checks * Fuel & water filters * Pump impeller * Bleeding fuel system * Emergency situations * MOB under power* Yacht handling under power * Yacht handling under sail

How many people on the course?
There will be a maximum of 5 students on board with one instructor.
What happens if the weather conditions aren't good?
If the weather forecast isn't looking ideal- one of our team will get in contact with you a few days before the event. We will look into rescheduling you for a later date or look into starting the course from our centre in Brighton.
How much of the course is spent on the water?
This is a practical course therefore the whole course will be on the water.
