Alsogaray Extends Lead At Central and South American Laser Championship

Julio Alsogaray (ARG) extends his lead over Bruno Fontes (BRA) at the Central South American Laser Standard Championship with another race win.
Two more races were sailed on day four in Buenos Aires with 9 knots of wind from the East. The 52 boat Laser fleet got away first followed by the Laser 4.7 fleet. Both completed one race but the Race Committee were forced to cancel the second race of the day due to a failing wind.

Olympic hopefuls and the best sailors of the region, Argentina's Julio Alsogaray and Brazil's Bruno Fontes who are both in the top ten of the ISAF rankings are fighting for the first position. Alsogaray picked up his fourth race win with Alejandro Foglia (URU) coming in second. After six races and one discard, the results are:

1 Julio Alsogaray (ARG) 6 pts
2 Bruno Fontes (BRA) 13 pts
3 Alejandro Foglia (URU) 20 pts

In the Laser 4.7, Peru's Lucía Falasca won the first race and Santiago Peschiera the second one. The results until now, with five races and a discard are:

1 Lucía Falasca (ARG) 9 pts
2 Alonso Collantes de Riglos (PER) 10 pts
3 María Cristina Knudsen Bobaid (BRA) 13 pts
