Following the success of the 2011 SL16 International Training Program, the SL16 Class have announced the start of a smart program for teams going to the 2012 Four Star Pizza ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship.
Set up for all youth multihull sailors around the team, there will be one SL16 International Training Camp from 28-30 June 2012 at Le Pouliguen, France. This will be followed by the SL16 Open World Championship at the same venue from 2-7 July.
The teams selected will then travel to Dublin, Ireland for the Four Star Pizza ISAF Youth Worlds from 12-21 July 2012.
Like the 2011 event, everything is done to help teams coming with free training, brand new boats available to rent at 50 Euros per day, free transfer from the airport to sailing club and help finding the best and low cost accommodation.
Following the success of 2011, Tomer Simhony and Ellie Copeland (NZL) who competed at the 2011 ISAF Youth Worlds said,
"The coaching was very good, really helpful and we learnt a lot. We had great facilities at the sailing club too and it was a great introduction for us to SL16 before the ISAF Youth Worlds in Croatia."
Spanish duo Jordi Booth and Pau Dengra added,
"It's been a good experience. The training has been fun, very helpful and a very good preparation before the ISAF Youth Worlds and the SL16 Open Worlds. We learnt a lot about the SL16."
