Very compact in size. Cleaning results may vary depending on what you're trying to clean,

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
The Bissell Spot Clean Pro Portable Deep Cleaner is a compact sized little machine that is easily transportable and reasonably easy to use. I'm not convinced it's the best choice for cleaning carpet and upholstery at this price point however. It gets high marks for portability but it's cleaning prowess leaves something to be desired and it is only intended for small clean-ups but certainly not for cleaning an entire room. It is truly a spot cleaner. The unit itself is roughly the size of a basketball I suppose. The power cord is generous in length while the actual hose is just about right in length although I did think a bit more length might have been desirable... just a bit more. Essentially there are two reservoirs, one for holding the cleaning solution, the other for holding the dirty water. Bissell provides two cleaning attachments, one is wider and intended for stairs, the other is small and intended for small stains. Also provided is a small bottle of cleaning solution. You fill, or partially fill the clean water tank with hot tap water and then add a small amount of cleaning solution to it. The cleaning solution is run through a small tube inside the hose to a nozzle at the end of the hose. A button on the handle of the hose releases the cleaning solution onto the area that you need to clean. Using either one of the provided cleaning tools, you gently brush the area to be cleaned and then use the suction of the machine to suck the dirt out of the rug or upholstery. The suction seemed adequate and after moving the tool over the wetted area numerous time, until no more water is seen entering the hose, the cleaned area is damp to the touch, but not soaking wet. I had mixed results using this machine on several different stains. In most cases it was possible to still see a faint remnant of stain but it was certainly a lot better than if left uncleaned. In some cases the stain or dirt was completely removed with no trace whatsoever. The machine was somewhat noisy but it has to be somewhat noisy given its purpose. It did seem to provide adequate suction to remove the cleaning solution from the area being cleaned. I also felt that it held an adequate amount of cleaning solution given that this is intended as a spot cleaner. Clean up of the machine is not quite as easy as you might think. Emptying the dirty water tank is easy enough but a surprising amount of carpet fibers and gunk remains in the hose and cleaning tool after use. I gave up trying to completely clean the hose and cleaning tool as it just was too difficult. I guess it doesn't have to be cleaned to a state of pristine, but if you're put off by gunk, just be forewarned that you'll have your work cut out for you to keep the hose and cleaning tools sparkling clean after using it. There are other carpet/upholstery cleaning machines made by other companies, for instance this Hoover machine: Hoover SteamVac Carpet Cleaner with Clean Surge, F5914-900 that are operated more like a stand-up vacum cleaner that might be easier to use for some people since they don't require stooping down to use. And the cost is just a small amount more for that type of machine. This Bissell Spot Clean Pro is more effective on some clean-ups and less effective on others, depending on the stain. It is certainly compact and easily moved around. Clean up can be a bit of a chore. If you're looking for a small sized machine for occasional, small clean-up jobs, this will probably work for you. If you think you want to clean large areas or entire rooms, this is definitely not what you want. I think it's OK if a bit on the pricey side.

My video review says it all, but in a nutshell: * Light-weight, easy to move about the house * Just add hot water and 2-ounces of the included cleaner * Really gets the carpet clean -- works as good as the large grocery-store rental units There are only two minor things I'd add to this product if I could: * Wheels (though it is not too heavy, wheels would allow you to tackle a bigger stain faster) * A retractable power cord. However, the cord is long, which is very convenient. This is the perfect product for pet owners, parents -- and clumsy people like myself. :-) It would also be ideal for restaurants and stores with carpets for fast clean-ups. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments section. Hope this review has helped.

I live with a 13-year-old incontinent shih-tzu and my 91-year-old father, so when I was offered a Bissell Spot Clean Pro Deep Cleaner I jumped at the chance. With white carpet and my two aforementioned roommates, a carpet cleaner was definitely in order. This little Bissell is a godsend. It is easy to maneuver, fairly light yet sturdy, and it cleans like nobody's business.I had another spot cleaner that worked okay, but nothing like this Bissell. It was a cordless model that only lasted about 5 minutes before it needed recharging. This model runs on electricity so that is not an issue. I am able to clean all the nasty spots in our house in one fell swoop. No more constant recharging and no more refilling tiny receptacles. This is a substantial feeling unit that feels more expensive than it is. I am extremely happy with this spot cleaner. My old cleaner is going to the Goodwill and this new one is my go-to spot remover. 5 stars!

I have a large upright carpet cleaner that does a good job of cleaning carpets, but it's a chore to get it out, get it set up, and to get it cleaned afterwards. And while it has attachments for upholstery and spot cleaning, it doesn't do quite as good of a job as on carpets. So, I thought that a portable spot cleaner might be what I'm looking for these types of chores, and decided to give this cleaner, the BISSELL Spot Clean Pro Portable Deep Cleaner a try. Below are my pro's and con's for this deep cleaner.Pros: - Ergonomics! I was very impressed at how well it all fit together. From the hose "reel" to the unit's space-saving size to the twist-out way you secure the power cord, it all fits together well. I even like how it looks ... like a small robot. :-) - Water/cleaning fluid capacity. You can handle a large job without having to run back and refill. The flip side of this is that the unit can get heavy when fully loaded, but you don't have to fill the water tank up all the way if you don't want to. - It did a good job on most stains, and did a better job on upholstery than my larger unit. - It comes with two cleaning heads ... a wider one and a narrower one, so you can choose the one that better fits your job. - The power cord is very long, helpful for jobs like moving around the room to clean several chairs without having to unplug/replug. - The suction (to pull water into the waste tank) is good. Cons: - It's noisy when you're sitting next to it. It probably has to be in order to generate sufficient suction, but consider ear-plugs if you're sensitive to louder noises. - My larger carpet cleaner does a better job on toughest stains on the carpet. Some of this is a function of how much elbow grease you're willing to expend with the Bissell, but the powered brushes on the big units will do a better job with less effort. And if you have something really icky/sticky on your furniture or carpeted stairs, consider pre-treating for better results. Other impressions that aren't a pro or a con: - Although the hose length is adequate, another three feet or so would have been nice. - It was easier to set up and easier to clean than my large carpet cleaner, but not by as much as I was hoping. It is considerably easier to move around and to store, though. - You do get your money's worth here, but if you don't already have a carpet cleaner, I'd recommend you spend just a little more money and get a large upright carpet cleaner, as this unit wasn't designed to clean entire carpets. It could, but it would take you a lot longer. Overall, this is a great unit. It did a very good job on my chairs and couches, and on several recent stains on my carpet, including some chocolate ice cream dropped by my five year old while I was first using this cleaner. (I don't know how a girl so graceful can also occasionally be so clumsy!) It won't replace your upright cleaner, but that's not its goal. Five stars.

I currently have Hoover MaxExtract Dual V Carpet Cleaner, Black, F7412900, but I decided to get this for things like steps and the car since that big unit is inconvenient for those things.I usually have an assembly section for this type of product, but thankfully this one is done and ready to go out-of-the-box! So I plug it in, wrap the hose and fill it up with water and cleaner. But, then I get stuck. I look at the Quick Start Guide and it says, "fill tank with hot tap water to fill line then add 1 capful (2 oz) of BISSELL 2x formula." Ok, so I go to fill the cap of the cleaner, but when I look at the instructions on the bottle, it says, "add 1 cup (8 oz) of hot tap water to the formula tank and then add formula to fill line." So I scratched my head and read the User's Guide, "fill tank with hot tap water to the water fill line. Add two ounces of BISSELL 2x formula to the tank." So I don't know where this "cap" is that is 2 ounces, so I just used a Ľ cup out of the kitchen. Now with that out of the way, let's see how it works. Wow, this is great! I wasn't expecting to work SO well and I didn't expect it to replace my big upright Hoover cleaner. Here is my best analogy I can think of: say you spilled a small handful of Cheerios on your kitchen floor. You could get out the push broom from the garage and clean it and it would work, but it is awkward and inefficient for that job. That is what it is like if you pull out a big upright carpet cleaner for a small spot on the carpet. If you have a cat, you'll know that sometimes they throw up. It's very annoying. I was using the upright to clean those, but I found this spot cleaner to be so much faster and more efficient with cleaner and water -- maybe 75% less water and cleaner and WAY less time. With this, even though there is no rotating brush, you can quickly get a small spot wet, brush vigorously in all directions and get it clean in seconds. With the upright, I might have to go over it 2-4 times in one direction, then another 2-4 in another direction, etc. I also like how the inside has little notes to the end user like, "wipe debris from red filter regularly" with an arrow. Overall, I think this is great if you have the same problem that I do of having to clean a good number of small spots every week.

Really Cleans Up Well!,

The Bissell Spot Clean Pro is a compact, solidly built little powerhouse for your small and quick carpet cleaning jobs. It comes out of the box ready to use. Just fill up your reservoir , plug in your unit and you are ready for some seriously deep cleaning. **note: This product is not intended for large areas so look elsewhere if you are wanting to do all your carpets and rugs. For small cleanup jobs however, the Spot Clean Pro excels. The entire unit seems well constructed. If you plan on using this a lot, make sure to purchase some extra cleaning fluid as you aren't given much in the starter bottle. The sprayer works well and the cleaning brush scrubs away at a high rate of speed. Changing out the fluid is a bit awkward and I spilled just a bit the first time until I got used to it. No biggie. Also, the electric cord is not all that long at 22 inches so an extension cord for more length might be in order depending on where you plan to use this. The specific need I have for this machine is due to my father's hobby which involves working on cars in the garage. At his age (82) he no longer remembers to wipe his feet or avoid steeping in grease and as a result there are numerous small 'accidents' that I ever must deal with or live with black grease and oil spots on our otherwise pristine carpets. I can't get him to be any more careful and that's where this machine comes in VERY handy! If I catch them quickly enough, I have been able to get up numerous oil and grease stains with a minimal amount of effort. What more could I ask for! This machine is also very adept at cleaning the inside of your car. (not to mention stairs) My only real complain is the NOISE it makes, but almost everything bothers me in that regard and I just put in a pair of earplugs or my earbuds and rock out while cleaning. For small jobs that require something that is both portable and fits into small spaces, the Spot Clean Pro really cleans up!

The Bissell Spot Clean Pro sits nicely between their handheld range such as the BISSELL SpotLifter 2X Portable Deep Carpet Cleaner, 1719 and their more professional range like the BISSELL Lift-Off Deluxe Pet Upright Deep Cleaner, Titanium, 73H5.It's a chunk of change of a machine in terms of weight especially when loaded with fluids and so carting it about may prove a little more difficult to the elderly/infirm so keep that in mind. But with that weight comes power! Upon unpacking the unit you'll notice it's complete with no assembly required and it's ready for the supplied Bissell formula and hot water. You fill it the usual way by up turning over the water container and unscrewing the cap. There's a water fill level near the top and then you put 2oz of the cleaning fluid to top it off. A quick re-screw of the cap and it plops back into the machine. You get two heads, one 4" and one 6" which attach and detach easily so if you're doing stairs then it's perfect for the top and front of them. Of course the true test of cleaning would be in the way it handles larger areas, not just spots of wine or whatever. We have about a three foot square area into the kitchen where people have to step over a gate and it accumulates the most dirt on the carpet. I decided to clean that area with the Bissell to see how it did. And boy did it do well: immediately clean and super fast. The suction on this thing is impressive and you can see the dirt being pulled up through the clear head attachment. I would say the area took about five minutes to clean and it looked... well, spotless! The dirty water container was filled black like oil and so even though you don't have to empty it until it's full I decided to drop it into the toilet anyway - it was that nasty. When emptying the unit it's a simple case of lifting it up and rotating the handle 180 degrees, the top then pops off and your pour the gunk down the drain or toilet. There's no chance of accidentally spilling it and it's very well thought out. This is a perfect device that serves well for smaller areas but ones that are too large for the handheld. You won't be doing an entire carpet without a larger head attachment (which I think is available - not sure) but you can easily clean up say five square feet in no time. You'll still use the handheld for tiny spots, but if you have a party and there's a few accidents you'll appreciate owning the Bissell 3624!

This works great for getting spots out of carpets. My unit is constantly getting borrowed for use by friends, especially the ones with kids and pets. I've used it on carpets, rugs, and upholstery with great results. For the extra tough stains i recommend pre-treating with am oxyclean type spray. The unit is a little loud and might be too heavy when full for some people. I'd estimate about 30 pounds. This IS NOT a whole floor type steam vac/mop. Its not that it couldnt do it per say, but it will take forever and youll probably have to refill the reservoir several times. But if you have light carpeted floors and a pet or baby or messy roommate this is the way to go. I vacuumed before using it on any stains, but i tried it on fresh dirt paw prints and it got the job done. I had to go a little wider as it spread it out a little bit, but it got it clean. If you have a large surface area to clean, like carpet near an entry way that gets a lot of tracked in stuff, definitely vacuum first and be prepared for it to take a while. You'll need a few pass overs and anything over 6"x6" starts to take exponentially longer. Obviously it depends on the mess but a dirty entryway took about an hour. And trying to clean a carpet area of about 10 sq ft took a couple hours. (I was trying to get rid of a pee smell from a new puppy, but didnt know exactly where it was... The improvements I wish it had, are that it was quieter had a way to use it efficiently on tile floors, and it being lighter as a well as a really power brush for low pile/really dirty carpet... but those are in an ideal world. In the real world it does exactly what it was designed to do, and does it well. Its definitely a niche item, but if you need it, this is a great option.

This little machine performs excellent! Very simple and easy to use. Take right out of the box, plug it in and go! I've never owned a rug shampooer before and I purchased this for small clean ups. Spills and dog accidents mostly.I've used this a number of times now and it works just as promised. The spray from the brush sprays right where you place it, doesn't overspray at all. The suction is outstanding. Comes with a small and large non aggitating brush cleaning head. Very easy to fill, empty and clean out. It has never leaked any water on the floor. I didn't find it too heavy to carry around either, and I'm no spring chicken. I've used different cleaning solutions depending on what type of mess I'm cleaning up and have been successful with all of them. Overall for anyone looking to clean small areas I would highly recommend this easy to use yet powerful little machine!

I like to clean, and I collect cleaning gadgets. Among my collection I have a couple of carpet cleaning machines, but the BISSELL Spot Clean Pro Portable Deep Cleaner just became my favorite. It's light to move around, even with both tanks full. It can be use to clean all type of carpets, and upholstery, and it does a great job absorbing the water back. That's the part that impressed me the most. How fast the cleaned surface dries out. It's particularly helpful on stairs. The included 8oz Professional Deep Cleaning formula has a nice scent, but most importantly removes old stain like magic. I highly recommend this product.
