Another note to mention about this product not mentioned by manufacturer:
- Color output is somewhere between 5000K to 6000K, is my guess.

This product is labeled as a floodlight but to me it should be labeled as a spotlight. It has a switch located on bottom side of solar panel that allows you to select between two brightness levels and OFF.... The brightness selection is a 6-Hour mode and 10-Hour mode. Basically is it just a High and Low mode. The 6-Hour mode allows the light to run at higher brightness for shorter period of time and the 10-Hour mode allows the light to run at lower brightness for longer period of time. At the 10-Hour mode, the brightness is still pretty darn bright. 10-Hour mode is what I have my light set at. I wouldn't really say it runs for 10 hours though. Maybe it will if it gets at least 10 hours of direct sunlight, but on a normal day with at least 6 to 8 hours of sunlight, the light will run for about 7-8 hours at the 10-Hour mode. At least this has been the case for me.

The output color is about a nice white color without that cold blue tint. There may be a bit of a blue tint, but very very minimal. If you're looking for more of a warm white color output, this light won't be for you. But if you're willing to compromise that for the brightness output than this light just may be for you.

I remember the first time when the lights came on. My first reaction was, "Holy crap! This light is bright!!!" I was very surprised. It was almost as bright as my more expensive spotlight that I paid almost twice the price for. This light is rated at 15 lumens, but it could have fooled me for a 30 lumens rated light. Yes, it is that bright! My more expensive unit is rated at 30 lumens. This light, so far, is holding its own compared with my more expensive unit.

Of course this one is not as ruggedized as my more expensive unit as that one is of metal construction. But the plastic construction of this light is not too shabby. The plastic on this light is definitely not as cheap as some of the lesser expensive ones I've seen. It's actually pretty decent.

A couple of issues I've ran into are as followed:
1) One thing I've notice is that the solar panel needs direct sunlight for this light to work well. For about a week, I noticed that the light wasn't performing so well. Then one morning I noticed that the shadows from my fences were blocking the sunlight to the solar panel so it wasn't able to charge the batteries fully. I moved the light away from the shadows cast by my fences and now it's getting adequate sunlight and able to sustain the evening. Not to any fault of the light due to my mistake, but it shows that the solar panel doesn't take indirect sunlight as well as other lights.

2) For the time being, I'm also occasionally experiencing some intermittent issues. Every now and then, after the light has been running for about 4 hours or so, the light turns off for no reason. I could blame it on inadequate sunlight, but that's not true, because I have two other lights that stay on much longer. Plus I have already made sure I moved the light away from any shadows and that it's receiving direct sunlight. I tried playing with the switch and switched it OFF and then back on. This worked, but only for a little while and will turn back off.

I am only giving this product 4 stars because of the solar panel's inability to use indirect sunlight to charge its batteries and also because of the intermittent issues I am facing at the moment. I hope to figure out the intermittent issue soon. It could very well be that the solar panel is bad and having issues charging the batteries and therefore cannot stay on longer than 4 hours. This would be really bad if it were the case. I'm hoping not.

But aside from these issues, I think this light is a great product because it is everything it advertises itself to be. Very bright light output! Durable plastic. Natural white color. It doesn't rate the color output, but with my experiences with LED lightings, it is about 5000K to 6000K. Many don't like this color frequency range, but I cannot hold that against this product. Color output is purely personal preference. If it were up to me, I prefer the warm white color (~3100K range). I definitely feel good about paying $25 for this product because I feel I am getting a lot for my money. I just hope it can last for at least 2 years and that I can figure out this intermittent issue. Read more ›

This is a good product that has a high, bright white light output. Even as the days get shorter, the spot light works well (at least until I go to bed!) and the light sensor operates well, turning it on at an appropriate level of darkness. Pretty rugged casing and stake so I anticipate it will be good for many seasons.

These lights have performed well and are very bright compared to others in their category. The only negative is the expense and availability of the type of battery they use when the originals wear out. These lights stay on for most of the night and I am very happy I found them. I will definitely order more in the future.
