Four Star Pizza ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship
Dun Laoghaire, Ireland

After an exciting three days of racing at the 2012 ISAF youth worlds event in Dublin Ireland rest day dawned on some race hardened and weary international athletes.
Athletes that having experienced conditions ranging from 3 to 30 knots and all the weather states in between had certainly had their skills and abilities tested to the maximum! However as the competitors relaxed the ISAF Youth Windsurfing equipment team from Neil Pryde were hard at work organising windsurfing taster sessions for the local sailors and the host venue youngsters.

The RS:X windsurfing fleet has attracted a lot of interest and excitement this week with no end of young sailors volunteering to help out and spectate. To thank these helpers and support the sport here in Ireland the ISAF Youth World Windsurf team decided to offer free "have a go" windsurfing lessons for all the volunteers.

Chris Lewis of NeilPryde was keen to praise the local host's efforts, "The helpers have been great this week and no job or task has been too big for them, they have been awe struck and really keen to help the sailors and it's been great to see their passion and excitement for windsurfing. The taster sessions are a great way to show our gratitude for their help and to start building a legacy for the sport of windsurfing and the ISAF Youth Worlds here in Dublin."

16 local sailors turned up for the windsurfing sessions and using the new RS:One youth one design board they soon mastered the basics and progressed quickly to be competent windsurfers with all the attendants showing some real promise for the future.

Two days of competition remain with the focus and excitement now on the sailors aiming for glory.
