Dates and Locations for 2008 US Olympic Trials

US SAILING has determined the dates and locations for the 2008 US Olympic Team Trials - Sailing in the 11 events selected for the 2008 Olympic Sailing Competition.

The sailing events and equipment selected for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games are:

  • Heavyweight Dinghy - Finn
  • Women's One Person Dinghy - Laser Radial
  • Men's One Person Dinghy - Laser
  • Men's Two Person Dinghy - 470
  • Women's Two Person Dinghy - 470 Women
  • Skiff - 49er
  • Men's Windsurfer - RS:X
  • Women's Windsurfer - RS:X
  • Multihull - Tornado
  • Star - Men's Keelboat
  • Yngling - Women's Keelboat

The US Olympic Team Trials - sailing will be held 3-14 October 2007 in Southern California and Newport, Rhode Island, with the exception of the Yngling class, which has two separate non-Olympic Trials events.

Only sailors who are eligible to represent the USA at the Olympic Games are able to compete in the 2008 US Olympic Team Trials - Sailing. US SAILING has created a qualification system for the Laser, Laser Radial and Star events to determine the athletes eligible to compete in the Trials.
