Balaton Laser Worlds: Laser 4.7 Youth World & European Championships
12 Jul 13
It was another difficult day for the competitors and the Race Committees on the Lake Balaton. Because of the light wind and the promises of the weather forcasts the fleets remained in the marinas until the early afternoon.
Another four races were sailed on day four of the F18 Worlds in Italy with Billy Besson taking a decisive lead ahead of Hugh Styles and Mischa Heemskerk.
Day three of the PWA Gran Canaria Wind and Waves Festival turned out to be another frustrating affair as the howling trade winds, which usually hammer Pozo throughout the summer months continued to desert us in favor of uncharacteristically light winds.
The International Jury has issued its decision in applications brought by Emirates Team New Zealand and Luna Rossa Challenge regarding Safety Rules implemented by the Regatta Director.
With 18-knot wind and more spectacular sailing at the F18 Worlds, French sailors Gurvan Bontemps, Billy Besson and Francois Gabart finished the first six qualifying races in first, second and third positions respectively.
Great Britain's Saskia Sills will aim to defend her RS:X Girls title at the Sail First ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship whilst an open RS:X Boys fleet means no certainties.

It was another difficult day for the competitors and the Race Committees on the Lake Balaton. Because of the light wind and the promises of the weather forcasts the fleets remained in the marinas until the early afternoon.
The second day of the PWA Gran Canaria Wind & Waves Festival proved to be a very relaxed affair as the wind and waves refused to play ball for the second day in a row. With temperatures soaring into the thirties and a very light breeze most of the sailors took the opportunity to seek cover out of the sunshine, as the waiting game continued.
The ISAF XML Regatta Reporting format (ISAF XRR) is an XML schema
defined by the International Sailing Federation; the world governing
body for the sport of sailing. It provides a universal standard for the
transfer of information relating to sailing events, including but not
limited to results, calendar and entry information.
Use the links in the menu above to navigate between the pages of
this section of the ISAF website.
If you require further information that is not currently included
or have comment(s) or suggestion(s) on the development of the project
and/or its online presence then please use the following link to access
the contact page for the ISAF technical department.
The Schema pages provide access to the
various development versions of the schema document and links to
examples that can be followed to assist in development of 3rd party
software to use XRR.
Technical Specification
The Technical Specification pages provide
detail on the content of the schema documents including the source and
type of the information for a number of the data fields and how the XML
entities relate to one another.
Data Transfer
The Data Transfer pages describe the XRR
message service in terms of the ISAF implementation and the methods
available for interacting with XRR with 3rd party software.
Software Packages
The Software Packages pages provide a
list of 3rd party software implementations which are compatible with
the data transfer procedures implemented on the ISAF servers. Links are
provided where available.
If you would like to nominate a software package for inclusion in our lists please contact the ISAF secretariat on the link above to register your interest and to organise an example implementation for testing against the XRR service.
File Import
The File Import page is a manual upload
tool that can be used to test XRR documents for correctness. It also
provides an upload tool for the particular case of a live Event where
an automated tool is unavailable.
