GRIBview 3.2 User Guide
 

This is a short guide to get you moving. It really is easy.
The complete user guide can be downloaded here in PDF format.

  • To get started you'll need to be registered with us.
  • You get a free trial to the subscription levels when you register too
  • Just click on the Free Trial or Subscribe button on our home page.
  • You will get an activation email from us too.


Now to the software:

Click on the red Connection icon and then account button, enter your registered email and password. Once added the Connection button will turn green if it can establish an Internet connection. If you don't connect you are either blocked by a firewall or have not entered your user id and password correctly.

 border= Hot buttons in the top toolbar download and animate the forecast data immediately for the map area displayed. The icon is coloured if data has been downloaded. Click the icon again to reanimate.

 border= Clears your screen of downloaded data.

 border= Downloads three parameters. You can click on wind, Pressure or Precipitation icons to view in single mode.

 border= Change the data resolution. High-res areas must be panned/zoomed to. i.e. Click South Africa and you will need to pan to that area to download data. If you use the hot buttons with high res-areas then the number of forecast days/hours is limited.

Advanced download opens a dialog that allows you to
  • change the number of hours/days downloaded. You can also add more data types to your download
  • set and name your favourites so you can access all that data in one click.
  • The mini map provides you with an indication of the area your viewing or will name as a favourite
  • Email provides the option to have a favourites data sent to your registered email address for up to 30 days

Value table and Meteograms. When no data is displayed Click anywhere on the map to get an instant value table for that for that point and expand to a meteogram by clicking on the graph icon in the value table. When data is displayed and you request a value table and meteogram display that data. Click the online button to get all data.
