Athens Eurolymp Week 2007
Athens, Greece

Emilios PAPATHANASIOU (GRE) stormed to victory at the ISAF Grade 2 Athens Eurolymp Week, winning nine of the ten Finn fleet races on the Saronikos Gulf. The home Greek sailors dominated in Athens, taking victory in ten of the eleven Olympic events.
Only Ruslana TARAN and Olena PAKHOLCHYK (UKR) were able to break the Greek stronghold, finishing as the top women pairing in the mixed 470 fleet.

Across the remaining fleets, it was a story of Greek domination. Last year's winner Evangelos CHIMONAS (GRE) secured victory in the 42 strong Laser fleet. After a trio of bullets in races 3,4 and 5, he never looked like losing the title. Antonios MANOLAKIS (GRE) came in second, just ahead of Kemal MUSLUBAS (TUR). Other repeat winners were Virginia KRAVARIOTI (GRE), who was dominant in the Laser Radial fleet, and Panagiotis MANTIS and Theodoros POLIHRONIDIS (GRE), who took victory in the Men's 470.

Antonia FREY (GRE) also repeated her 2006 victory, winning the Women's RS:X fleet with five bullets from six races. The men's fleet was more closely contested, but again it was the 2006 winner, Byron KOKKALANIS (GRE), who took the title.

In the all-Greek fleets, Athanasios PACHOUMAS and Athanasios SIOUZIOS (GRE) were clear winners in the 49er, Theodoros TSOULFAS and Iakovos LOUDAROS (GRE) won in the Star, Iordanis PASCHALIDES and Konstantinos TRIGONIS (GRE) scored bullets in every race in the Tornado, whilst Olympic gold medallist Sofia BEKATOROU (GRE) led her Yngling crew of Sofia PAPADOPOULOU and Christina CHARAMOUNTANI to victory.
