Volvo Ocean Race

In the light breeze the yachts are experiencing, they have employed different concepts to get going again. djuice and ASSA ABLOY are on the wind towards the northwest in a westerly breeze.
Just 12 miles to the east, SEB and illbruck head to the northeast in an easterly breeze. In the middle of both groups News Corp is doing 2.3 knots straight towards the waypoint. Does that make sense?

In the same time, still trying to get around the fleet, Amer Sports One has slowed down to 3.4 knots, 26 miles behind leading SEB. Nerves among the crews on the leading yachts are taut as they see their hard fought lead diminishing. They can only watch as Amer Sports Too comes flying in with a ten-knot higher average speed, without being able to take any defending action.
