Soling World Championship

The 2005 Soling World Championship will be sailed in Castiglione della Pescaia, a nice fishing village and well known touristic spot on the Tyrrenian Sea, Italy's west coast.
In late May, from Friday 20 to Friday 27 an estimated fleet of 40-45 boats, coming from 12-15 countries of Europe, North and South America, will converge in Castiglione to sail the Worlds. 7 races will be sailed from Monday 23 to Friday 27, with 20-21-22 reserved for measurement procedures and the opening ceremony. A rich calendar of Social Events will be also offered.

The event's website is already running at the address below, online entry status is now available with an easy procedure. Information about accommodations, shipping, travel and touristic spots in magnificent Provincia di Grosseto and Southern Tuscany region called Maremma are also available.

The organizing committee is the Club Velico Castiglione della Pescaia, supported by Provincia di Grosseto, Regione Toscana and Comune di Castiglione della Pescaia, in collaboration with the International Soling Association.

Castiglione's vivid blue waters are a well known spot for sailing in the Mediterranean. In the past, CVCP organized the Tornado Europeans, the Flying Junior Worlds, the 2002 Soling Europeans, and lot of other National and International regattas in the Olympic Classes. The weather in late spring in Castiglione is warm with 25-28°C temperatures, sun and nice seabreezes, normally blowing in the afternoon from 10 to 18 knots.
