China Sea Race 2004

The 2003-2004 Omega Asian Yachting Circuit comes to a climax with this, the fourth and final race of the series that encompasses Malaysia's Raja Muda Regatta, Thailand's King's Cup, Singapore Straits Regatta and Hong Kong's China Sea Race.
Only the best three results count and with CSR Race Chairman, Neil PRYDE, on 7 points after discard with "Hi Fidelity", Fred KINMONTH'S "Stella Minter Ellison" on 6 and Ray ROBERT'S "Hollywood Boulevard" on 4, the Circuit title is still wide open.

The Circuit entrants will add extra spice to an extremely competitive IRC Racing Division, which sees Sam CHAN'S "Free Fire" and Frank PONG'S "Jelik" resume their ongoing battle for line honours in Asia's offshore races. Robert KNIGHT'S Mills Design DK46, "Drum Stick", is a serious contender for first place on corrected time in her debut race and, after exhibiting the high-tech Elliot 45, "Maverick II", during China Coast Race Week last October, Kiwi Brian PETERSEN will once again be pitting the winner of the 2003 Melbourne to Osaka double-handed race against Hong Kong's finest.

Around 40 competitors are expected to join the China Sea Race, a Category 1 race with RORC prescriptions, co-organised by the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club and Manila Yacht Club, co-hosted by Subic Bay Yacht Club and run under the auspices of the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC). After the 565nm race from Hong Kong to Subic Bay, boats will join local competitors in the President's Cup 2004, enjoying four days of windward/leeward and inshore racing in the balmy waters of Subic Bay and no doubt finding time to enjoy the hospitality of Subic Bay Yacht Club!
