All races were sailed as a windward/leeward leg followed by a triangle with the RC in the middle of the weather leg. The Lake and race area can only be described as spectacular.

Winds started out very light but built to about 6 - 8 kts by the start of race one. After a clean start it was soon apparent that Thomas TANG from Denmark had very good upwind speed, leading the fleet around the weather mark but followed by a tight pack from Singapore. Thomas was not as fast downwind as he was carrying too much vang tension and not enough twist. Fastest downwind was French Europe sailor Morgan AUSSELL who pushed it just a bit too much and was penalized on the water under Rule 42.

She did her turns yet still managed to finish second due to very good upwind work. The only one sailing better upwind was Tang who regained the lead and won the race. Third was Calvin Lim Zhi YANG from Singapore, fourth Sestan MARCO from Croatia and firth, a second French boat, Frederic MINUCCI.

Race two started with a huge starboard tack header at about one minute to go and the entire fleet flipped onto port unable to lay the line. First to flip was Tang and it put him over the line. He was smart enough to realize it, restarted and was back up in the top three by the weather mark but this time with the other Dane, Emil BORRESEN also in the hunt. The shift brought with it increased wind which, by the weather mark, was up to 12 - 15, and the boats started surfing. Morgan AUSSELL was in the hunt at the bottom of the run rounding fifth behind the two Danes, Lim Zhi YANG and UK sailor Oliver TWEDDELL, one of the heaviest in the fleet and a previous UK Byte Open winner. Aussell battled with Lim Zhi YANG upwind and ground down all but Emil with some excellent tactics near the top mark and started down the first reach in second.

By the end of the second reach Helena was in first closely followed by Aussell. Up the last beat to the finish Aussell finally passed Helena beating her across the line by about five seconds. However, it was all for nothing as she had been OCS! Helena took the race followed by Thomas TANG, a second Dane, Emil BORRENSEN, then Chao Loh ZHI of Singapore and Calvin Lim Zhi YANG with his second strong finish.

Race three started in about 8 - 10 but it quickly built back to 12 - 15. Once again it was Thomas TANG out in front at the weather mark but Aussell was down in the pack probably being a bit over cautious on the start. Once again Thomas got passed on the run, this time by one of the lightest sailors in the fleet, Italian Bettina BONELLI, a former European Optimist Champion. She started up the beat first but was unable to hold her position. The two Singaporeans, Chao and Calvin sailed into the lead and there was no passing them as they went on to take first and second in the race followed by Thomas and Sestan MARCO of Croatia getting his second fourth place and, in fifth, the top Italian Marco GIANNINI getting his best finish. Aussell worked back up to seventh, a position that would have put her second overall had she not had the OCS.
