High cloud cover prevented the land from heating up enough to create the same kind of breeze that the competitors enjoyed for day one of racing on Tuesday. The wind was seldom over 6 knots and as often in light conditions it was shifty and puffy out on the race course.

The most successful team in the light and tricky conditions were Renee GROENEVELD, Annemieke BES and Merel WITTEVEEN (NED). With 1,4 scores in Wednesday's races they move top on the overall leaderboard. The American team of Sally BARKOW, Carrie HOWE and Debbie CAPOZZI drop back to second overall after a disappointing 22nd in race 4. The US team did however recover with a fifth place in race 5 and are only three points behind the Dutch leaders.

Following the fifth race of the series, each crew can exclude one of their scores and consequently the World Championship winning team of Sarah AYTON, Sarah WEBB and Pippa WILSON (GBR) discard their RAF from Tuesday and jump up the leaderboard to third. The British team picked up their second bullet of the regatta in Wednesday's opening race and followed it up with a seventh in race 5. Overnight leaders Mandy MULDER, Brechtje VAN DER WERF and Floortje HENDRIKSEN (NED) did not fare so well in the light winds, with scores of 9 and 18 dropping them back to fifth overall, just behind the Russian team of Ekaterina SKUDINA, Diana KRUTSKIKH and Natalia IVANOVA.
