Royal Yachting Association
Southampton

The new year heralds exciting times ahead for the Royal Yachting Association of Great Britain as they prepare to move to new purpose-built premises in Hamble.
The relocation in March to a purpose built facility in an area that is arguably the centre of British yachting follows a great year for boating that has seen increases in overall participation, membership and completion of training courses.

"As the RYA has developed its role as the national association for all forms of sailing, windsurfing, motor cruising, sportsboats, personal watercraft and powerboat racing, we have simply come to outgrow our current building," says RYA Chief Executive Rod Carr. "When the RYA first moved to Eastleigh in 1987 there were just 60 staff. Now we're nearing the 100 mark. The move to the new building will bring enormous benefits, for our members as well as for staff."

The new premises will:

• Provide an excellent, modern and efficient working environment for the RYA Team to move forward and carry out its multiple roles more effectively

• Assemble all RYA services under one roof to improve operational efficiency

• Enable the RYA to serve the needs of its members and the wider boating community for years to come

• Allow for the retention of specialist staff, expert in their respective fields, to continue providing professional guidance and advice on both sail and power issues.

The RYA will close its Eastleigh office on Thursday 13 March and reopen in Hamble on Tuesday 18 March.

The new RYA address will be: RYA House, Ensign Way, Hamble, Southampton, SO31 4YA, telephone 0845 345 0400.
