Maktoum Sailing Trophy
Dubai, UAE

Serdal Dubai and Switch Blade have boosted their challenge for the Maktoum Sailing Trophy while Horizon FCB has extended its lead in the series despite a late disqualification during the weekend's third of seven rounds.
Skippered by Christophe VANEK, Horizon FCB was disqualified from the fifth of six races in the Jebel Ali Sailing Club leg of the series for an infringement at the start.

After a protest hearing on Friday night following the third round, Sharazad, skippered by David WORRALL, was also disqualified for an infringement during race four.

Despite the setback, Horizon FCB, owned by Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al NAHYAN, has extended its overall lead in the Maktoum Sailing Trophy from three to five points, but with only ten points separating the top six boats the title race is still wide open.

The biggest movers over the weekend were Serdal Dubai, owned by Sheikh Rashid Bin Khalifa Al MAKTOUM and skippered by Mark FEILBERG, who climbed from fifth to third position overall, and David ROSTANT'S Switch Blade which rose from sixth to fourth. After a disappointing weekend, Xclusive, skippered by Yousef Bin LAHEJ, slipped from third to sixth.

The next round of the Maktoum Sailing Trophy, the Dubai-Muscat Race, is a 365-nautical mile ISAF Category 3 offshore event taking place from 3 - 7 March.
