IFDS Single-Person Dinghy World Championship 2005
San Felice Circeo, Italy

The third day of racing in the IFDS Single-Person Dingy World Championship and Sabaudia's Cup in Italy saw tight competition continue but Bento AMARAL (POR) remains unchallenged at the top of the leaderboard.
AMARAL finished race three in second place before claiming his second bullet of the championship and now has a seven point lead over second placed Fernando PEREIRA (POR). In third place is Colin JOHANSON (AUS) who is the only sailor other than AMARAL to have finished a race in first place but he is suffering from a DNS in race four.

Zoltan PEGAN (AUS) held on to his domination of first place in the Sabaudia's Cup with a nine point lead following races three and four in which he finished fourth and first respectively.

The weather improved from the previous two days; wind speeds averaged between seven and fourteen knots with a metre high chop and confused seas. The fourth race was shortened because of an approaching series of thunderstorms, which fortunately held off until all sailors were safely ashore.

Today, Friday, is a lay day and racing will continue on Saturday and Sunday
