In perfect conditions 49er conditions, Kenjiro TODOROKI and Kenichi KIDA managed to hold on to their overall lead, but Denmark's Allan NORREGAARD and Christian ANDEERSEN are only one point behind after scoring three bullets in today's racing.

With the men and women on the RS:X racing as one fleet, and it is interesting to see how different rig sizes compare. Yasuko KOSUGE had good speed and stays top of the women's division whilst another two bullets keep Motokazu KENJO clear in the men's.

In the Laser Yukio MAKINO had two firsts today to move to the top of the leaderboard. He enjoyed the tricky lighter conditions, as tactics and strategy became far more important. Yoichi IIJIMA and Hisaki NAGAI are right behind the leader.

Ayumi ISHIKAWA sailed well to maintain her lead after an exhausting day on long courses in the Laser Radial, whilst behind her, Yukio SAIKI, Thailand's Sinsupa WANNASUTH, Mutsumi HAMAGUCHI, and Atsuko KAWASOE are all battling within two points.

Amongst the 41 470s Masaaki TANIGUCHI and Ryohei YOSHIMI move top after finishing second in the final two races. Tetsuya MATSUNAGA and Taro UENO also had a good day to jump into second position, whilst Ai KONDO and Naoko KAMATA, the leading women's team, hang on to third overall. Olympic bronze medallist Kazuto SEKI and his new crew Yanagawa SYOUCHI are fifth. Australia's Mathew BELCHER and Nick BEHRENS did not enjoy lighter conditions, but are learning good light wind techniques from the Japanese fleet.

More breeze from south is predicted for tomorrow with big swells providing more challenging conditions for the sailors in Japan.
