Mistral Youth & Junior World Championship 2005
Sopot, Poland

Four time ISAF Youth Worlds winner Zofia KLEPACKA (POL ) and the Slovak Republic's Patrik POLLACK gave the standout performances at the recent Mistral Youth & Junior and Raceboard Masters World and Raceboard European Championships in Sopot, Poland, scoring a perfect eight points to take the Mistral Girls Youth World and Raceboard European titles last weekend.
KLEPACKA followed eight straight bullets with a discarded second in the final race in a dominant display. Israel's Maayan DAVIDOVICH came in a distant second winning her battle with two time ISAF Youth Worlds silver medallist Anne Sophie LE PAGE (FRA) who finished third.

In the boys' event 2005 Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Champion Lukasz GRODZICKI gave Poland their second gold medal after an extremely tight series. Israel's Shahar ZUBARI fought GRODZICKI the entire way and after the young Polish windsurfer finished 15th in the penultimate race, only needed to finish within three places of his rival to take the title. GRODZICKI piled the pressure on by taking second in the last race and with ZUBARI crossing the line in seventh, he claimed the Championship crown. ISAF Youth Worlds silver medallist France's Pierre LE COQ (FRA) claimed third place.

There was more success for Poland in the Junior girls event with Maja DZIARNOWSKA (POL) taking the honours, whilst Charles DE BUYER gave France a gold medal in the Junior boys.

Italy came out on top in the Raceboard Masters Worlds thanks to a narrow win by Paco WIRZ. Meanwhile in the Raceboard Europeans, POLLACK mirrored KLEPACKA's dominance with seven bullets giving him a massive winning margin.
