Match Race Germany Qualifier 2005
Langenargen, Germany

There were perfect conditions on day one of the ISAF Grade 3 Match Race Germany Qualifier. Lake Constance welcomed an international fleet of sailors aiming to earn a place in the ISAF Grade 1 Match Race Germany from 11-16 May.
After two practice sessions in the morning the race committee started the first flight at around 1330 hours local time with a westerly wind in the region of 8-10 knots.

Flights were completed under the perfect race management of the Yacht Club Langeargen with a happy Principle Race Officer, Rudi MAGG and his crew doing a faultless job.

Sten MOHR (DEN), making a comeback in match racing, got off to the perfect start and leads the field with a perfect five and zero record. Behind him Tino ELLEGAST (GER) also has yet to lose a flight although he has only raced three so far. Eric MONNIN (SUI), seventh in Match Race Germany last year, has struggle so far with just a single win from his five matches.

Racing will continues today at 0900 with the likely conclusion of the first round robin.

Just one crew advances to the all star field of Match Race Germany which will be sailed on the same waters.
