Starting at 11.00 (local time) each day, three one design classes, the Farr 40 class, Sydney 38 class and Sydney 32 class will race off Sydney Heads.

The Rolex Trophy One Design Series will be the second Farr 40 regatta for husband and wife team of Lisa and Martin HILL who last year won the Sydney 38 division of the Rolex Trophy One Design Series and are the current national champions.

The Estate Master Sailing Team has recently embarked on a four year campaign in the Farr 40 class.

'Richard PERINI and Matt and Lisa ALLEN have climbed this mountain before us and we salute their achievements. We too are thirsty to develop our skills in this class and to test them against the world's best,' says Martin HILL.

Their wish has been granted with the recently crowned Rolex Farr 40 World Champion and winner of the Farr 40 division of last year's Rolex Trophy, Vincenzo ONORATO and his mostly Italian crew, today fine tuning Mascalzone Latino for this weekend's match up against the local fleet.

'Australia has produced some of the top Farr 40 sailors over the years and this is a great opportunity to sail against them,' commented ONORATO.

Also lining up tomorrow amongst the fleet of 11 is the runner up at the Farr 40 world titles, Matt ALLEN, who will switch his attentions from his Rolex Sydney Hobart preparations with his Jones 70, also called Ichi Ban, to this weekend's Farr 40 contest he will sail with wife Lisa on the crew.

Sydney property developer Lang WALKER will be joined by wife Sue on the Farr 40 Kokomo.

Making a guest appearance aboard Andrew SHORT's Farr 40 Andrew Short Marine will be international yachtsman Barney WALKER who is flying up from Victoria for the weekend then again for the Rolex Sydney Hobart when he will join Lou ABRAHAMS' Sydney 38 Challenge for Lou's 44th consecutive and possibly his last race south.

It's a formidable Farr 40 entry list however one noticeable absentee is former world champion Richard PERINI on Evolution who finished second on the podium in last weekend's Mumm 30 World Championship in Miami, Florida. He won't contest this weekend's regatta due to the fact his boat is currently out of the water having work done.

Amongst the fleet of nine Sydney 38's, Gordon and Kim KETELBEY will campaign Zen and twin brothers Louis and Marc RYCKMANS will steer Star Dean-Willcocks as they hone their skills for the upcoming bluewater classic, the 2006 Rolex Sydney Hobart.

In the new Sydney 32 division, the first time this division has raced in the Rolex Trophy One Design Series, husband and wife Anna and Martin CROSS have entered If and will join Ray STONE's Razors Edge and Andy KEARNAN's Wirrajurnd, amongst others in the fleet of seven entered.

The forecast for Friday and Saturday is for light sou'easters in the morning before the summer nor'easter is expected to fill in over the course of the afternoon. Sunday's forecast is for a 10-15 knot nor'easter, freshening to 15-20 knots in afternoon.
