Jean-Pierre Champion, President of the FFVoile said,
"We failed to live up to our expectations in Perth and we have also failed to live up to what we are worth. In the same time, the primary objective, success as a nation is described in the ten series. Apart from English, we are the only nation to qualify within ten series. This is a necessary step but a step obviously insufficient. We can not be content with this success. This implies on our part a number of reflections in the short, medium and long term and immediate work. For me, it is very difficult to be at the highest level for four years and never falter. It would be ideal but it's complicated. We maintain our confidence, our enthusiasm and our goals for the French Olympic sailing."
Julien Bontemps reaction,
"This is my first goal and is a good thing even if there is work that needs to be done. I'm happy to take the reins again. In the coming months, we'll do a lot of back and forth between home and Cadiz which will host the next World Championship in late March."
Charline Picon reaction,
"For me, this selection is not really a surprise but it's a big satisfaction. This will be my first Olympics, I think I did not really account. I've been waiting for this moment for a long time. I have a nice card to play and I will do everything to bring back a medal."
Jonathan Lobert reaction,
"I'm really happy. The Olympics is a childhood dream, it's a culmination. The real goal now is to return the medal. I will put everything in place to do it. The next six months will be intense."
Stéphane Christidis reaction,
" It's great because we have six months to prepare and we never had as much time on the previous Games. Our motto for this year: 2012, never lose."
Pierre Leboucher reaction,
"Being selected was one of the goals of our season. The goal is met. The new goal is to win an Olympic medal. This selection is for us a step closer! Now it will be easier to organize all the preparation for the Olympic Games. We knew that our season was nice but from the moment the selection is not mathematics, it can not be sure. We were just confident, but now we are very satisfied! "
Claire Leroy reaction,
"This is the first step in our goal. We already knew this because according to the results, the reverse would have been very surprising to see him but writing is great."
Xavier Rohart reaction,
"It's sacred good news. This will be my fifth Olympics. It is not yet a habit even if it's part of my daily life. It's something inside me every day a lot. I like the notion of being a pillar of being the guy who is always there and hard to beat. I'm happy but I'm not even sure there's champagne, and then in very small committee. We are not world champions and we have aspects of performance tweaking. The work is enormous and each day will count."
