ISAF World Match Race Rankings

Anna Tunnicliffe (USA) retained her place as World #1 in the Women's Match Race Rankings whilst Francesco Bruni (ITA) moves to the top of the Open Match Race Rankings for the first time.
Bruni held second place for the last three rankings releases but after his third place finish at the Argo Gold Cup, the seventh stage of the World Match Racing Tour, he leapfrogs Ian Williams (GBR).

Meanwhile Tunnicliffe, who is an ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year award nominee, established herself at the top of the rankings following her victory at the Santa Maria Cup in Annapolis, USA.

Open Rankings

Williams leads the World Match Racing Tour overall leaderboard by six points ahead of Bruni, but the Italian knocked the Brit off the top of the Open Rankings following his victory over Phil Robertson (NZL) in the Petit Final at the Argo Gold Cup in Hamilton, Bermuda.

Williams lost at the Quarter Final stage to Robertson in Bermuda and finished seventh overall handing Bruni the World #1 spot. Torvar Mirsky (AUS) claimed top honours in Bermuda and leapfrogged Williams to take #2 with the British sailor settling for #3.

Laurie Jury (NZL) continues his climb up the rankings and after defeating Mads Ebler (DEN) at the ISAF Nations Cup Grand Final in Sheboygan, USA he moves to a personal best of #13.

Chicago Match Race winner Keith Swinton (AUS) moves from #20 to #12 and one of the biggest climbers is Mark Lees (GBR) who jumps from #102 to #71 following a good run of form which included two third place finishes at the ISAF Grade 3 RYA National Match Racing Youth Championships in Great Britain and the International Youth Match Race Championship EUROSAF European Youth Championship in Italy.

Women's Rankings

ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year nominee Tunnicliffe overcame Julie Bossard (FRA) in the Final of the Santa Maria Cup to maintain her World #1 status. The American has had a fantastic year so far finishing on the podium at ten out of twelve regattas. But Claire Leroy (FRA) maintains the pressure on the American following her victory at the ISAF Nations Cup Grand Final which sees her move from #4 to #2.

Sharon Ferris-Choat's (CAN) eighth place at the ISAF Nations Cup moves her from #98 to #44 and China's Ru Wang continues to impress and work her way up the rankings following her seventh place in Sheboygan. The Chinese Match Racer jumps from #39 to #32.

Finland's Silja Lehtinen moved up one place to #8 in the world following her victory at the Women's Finnish Match Racing Championships in Skifferholmen, Finland.
