An Internet Merchant ID (MID) is a type of account that enables you to accept credit and debit card payments directly online. We work with a number of banks or acquirers to provide our Merchant Account Service.
Even if you already have an existing merchant account for face-to-face transactions, you cannot use this for trading online and will still need and Internet MID to accept online payments from credit or debit cards.
Shoppers will visit your e-commerce site to order your goods or services and make payments, and the funds will usually be in your bank account after three or four working days dependant on your industry and risk profile.
If you wish to use the Virtual Terminal purely to handle your MOTO transactions, you will need to apply for a MOTO Merchant Account. You can obtain this via the SecureTrading Merchant Account Service or by applying with your bank.
*Does not include our Payment Gateway fees and is dependent on your company's turnover and risk profile.
