The Movie

  • Somewhere at the intersection of the Earth and the sky, at the crossroads of the past and the future, OMEGA’s Co-Axial calibres are taking the mechanical watch movement to a place it’s never been before.

The Escapement

  • The escapement – the heart of every mechanical movement – had remained unchanged for some 250 years. Our Co-Axial escapement defied the tradition, delivering less sliding friction, greater mechanical efficiency and outstanding chronometric performance over time.

  • How It Works / Chronometer certification

For any watch to be called a ‘chronometer’ it needs to have been tested and certified to meet extremely high levels of precision. The certification is carried out by an independent institution in Switzerland.

It’s easy to spot which of our watches are Co-Axial chronometers – it’s written on the dial.
