The Movie
-
Somewhere at the intersection of the Earth and the sky, at the crossroads of the past and the future, OMEGA’s Co-Axial calibres are taking the mechanical watch movement to a place it’s never been before.
The Escapement
-
The escapement – the heart of every mechanical movement – had remained unchanged for some 250 years. Our Co-Axial escapement defied the tradition, delivering less sliding friction, greater mechanical efficiency and outstanding chronometric performance over time.

How It Works / Chronometer certification
For any watch to be called a ‘chronometer’ it needs to have been tested and certified to meet extremely high levels of precision. The certification is carried out by an independent institution in Switzerland.

How It Works / What is a chronometer?
It’s easy to spot which of our watches are Co-Axial chronometers – it’s written on the dial.
